The Fourth Week of Italian Cuisine in Chicago was launched on November 8th with the pre-inaugural event “Duello ai fornelli”! at the Scuola Italiana Enrico Fermi – the first Italian American International School in the Chicago area – with the support of the Consulate General of Italy.
To promote the Italian cuisine and its healthy features among the youngest, the Scuola Italiana Enrico Fermi organized a culinary competition for the best Risotto al Prosecco among teams of students from five renowned Chicago Universities: DePaul University, Loyola University Chicago, Northwestern University, the University of Chicago, and the University of Illinois at Chicago. The senior teams were cheerfully supported by the school children.
Consul General Giuseppe Finocchiaro addressed over 200 people attending the event highlighting the quality of Italian cuisine and the importance of healthy food culture for future generations. Guests enjoyed a marvelous display of delicious Italian food!
Let’s celebrate together the 4th Week of Italian Cuisine in the World! Here in Chicago we love our Mediterranean Diet, whose benefits derive from healthy, sustainable, authentic, and tasty Italian food, including cheeses, wines, and much more! IT/USA #ItalianTaste2019
