On the occasion of his participation at Vinitaly USA in Chicago on October 20th 2024, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Riccardo Guariglia, greeted the staff of the Consulate General and the Italian Cultural Institute and met with representatives of the Italian community.
The Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry, Hon. Francesco Lollobrigida, spoke at the inauguration of Vinitaly USA, the first edition in the United States of the renowned Verona International Wine Show. In addition to Minister Lollobrigida, the ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by the Governor of Illinois JB Pritzker, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Amb. Riccardo Guariglia, the President of the Regione Lazio Francesco Rocca and the President of ICE-Italian Trade Agency Matteo Zoppas.
The event was opened by a video message from the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Antonio Tajani. In a passage of the message, Minister Tajani recalled how “Wine is a story that tells the beauty of our territories, the Italian art of living and the work of our companies. Vinitaly USA is an exceptional tool for promoting our know-how“.
