To mark the 8th edition of Italian Research Day in the World—celebrated on the birthday of Nobel Laureate Prof. Rita Levi Montalcini—the Consulate General of Italy in Chicago hosted the event “Dialogue on Quantum Science and Technology”, organized by Consul General Mario Alberto Bartoli.
The event brought together leading Italian and American scientists and scholars from both sides of the Atlantic, including experts from Italy and the U.S. Midwest (particularly Illinois and Colorado). Topics of focus included:
🔹 Italy’s National Strategy for Quantum Science and Technology
🔹 U.S. infrastructure and research programs in Quantum Computing, Networking, Materials, Sensors, and Metrology
The main goal: to strengthen existing partnerships and foster new opportunities for collaboration between Italian and USA quantum research ecosystems—also involving business and investment communities.
Following opening remarks by Consul General Mario Alberto Bartoli and an introduction by Scientific Attaché Prof. Marcello Alecci, nine speakers delivered engaging presentations, which were followed by a lively Q&A session.
Guests and panelists continued their conversations during an informal networking lunch at the end of the official program.
