The Midwest Event of the U.S. tour of Italian-Egyptian artist and writer Amir Issaa’s “Power to Words-Vivo per questo” Project took place March 3-5, 2025, sponsored by the Education Office of the Consulate General of Italy in Chicago and the Italian Cultural Institute in Chicago, in collaboration with the University of Illinois at Chicago (with Prof. Chiara Fabbian) and the University of Wisconsin-Madison (with Prof. Grazia Menechella). The program consisted of workshops and writing laboratories involving primary, middle, high school students and university students. In addition to workshops and laboratories a meeting and debate with students was held at the University of Chicago Illinois and University of Wisconsin Madison entitled “Power to the Words: A Conversation with Amir Issaa.
