The new offices overlook\u00a0<strong>Millennium Park<\/strong>\u00a0and are within walking distance of the iconic\u00a0<strong>Cloud Gate (\u201cThe Bean\u201d)<\/strong>, the\u00a0<strong>Chicago Cultural Center<\/strong>, the\u00a0<strong>Art Institute of Chicago<\/strong>, and the shores of\u00a0<strong>Lake Michigan<\/strong>, offering visitors a central location that is easily accessible by both public transportation and major roadways.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The Consulate General is headed by a career Consul General and has jurisdiction over the following states:\u00a0<strong>Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, and Wyoming<\/strong>. According to the Consulate General\u2019s estimates, more than\u00a0<strong>22,000 Italian citizens<\/strong>\u00a0reside in the State of Illinois alone, while over\u00a0<strong>30,000<\/strong>\u00a0live throughout the entire consular district. Furthermore, according to the latest U.S. Census data, approximately\u00a0<strong>735,000 Americans of Italian descent<\/strong>\u00a0live in Illinois, and more than\u00a0<strong>1,435,000<\/strong>\u00a0reside within the Consulate\u2019s jurisdiction.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The consular district covers an extensive territory with a population exceeding\u00a0<strong>65 million people<\/strong>. The farthest communities are located thousands of miles from the Consulate\u2019s headquarters in Chicago.
