Dear fellow Italians, Dear American friends,

As I take office as the Italian Consul General, I would like to greet each one of you. I am sure that in the near future there will be many opportunities for us to meet and discuss cultural, artistic and economic projects that permit to us appreciate the outstanding richness of Italy.

It will be also crucial to further develop and deepen the relationships between Italy and the City of Chicago. Moreover, I aim to foster the bonds with Illinois and all the other Midwestern States that are under the jurisdiction of this Consulate General. Their strategic geographic position represents indeed a cultural crossroads and it is of critical importance for the whole Country’s economy.

As Consul General I will work on enhancing and improving the consular services that we offer daily to our fellow citizens and the citizens from the other numerous countries that benefit from our services. I also plan to consolidate the consular network, so that everyone will be better served.

I look forward to meeting all citizens, associations, and both the Italian and Italian-American Communities. I am particularly grateful to this last one for its dedication and commitment to fostering friendship between Chicago and Italy, which I have already had the opportunity to experience and appreciate.

Please consider the Consulate General and myself at your service.

Kind regards,

Giuseppe Finocchiaro
